How Our Autism Therapy Program Begins

Learn More about ABA Therapy Services with our FAQs

What is ABA therapy? What does ABA stand for?

ABA stands for “applied behavioral analysis.” ABA uses positive reinforcement to help teach new skills and behaviors in various scenarios autistic children will face in life, focusing on the relationship between learning and behavior. Learn more from our “What is ABA?” article.

What does early intervention mean?

Early intervention refers to any type of intervention or therapy that begins as early as possible in a child’s life. It may also refer to a state-funded/federal-funded program that provides support and therapy services to babies and children (up to age three) with developmental delays or disabilities.

Is ABA therapy covered by insurance?

Fortunately, ABA services are covered by the majority of health insurance plans, including Medicaid. See a list of some of our accepted health insurance plans below.

Can parents attend ABA therapy with their children?

No, generally parents cannot attend in-center ABA therapy with their children. It is possible to schedule an “observational visit” if there is something in particular the parents are looking to see, but any sort of recurring parent attendance is more disruptive than helpful. The parent coaching sessions, which are strongly encouraged as often as twice a week, are the better format to keep parents involved and ensure the children are generalizing skills at home.
