What is M-CHAT?

The M-CHAT-R (Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers) is a widely used, research-based screening tool designed to identify early signs of autism spectrum disorder in young children.

 

It consists of a short set of parent-answered questions and is recommended for toddlers between 16 and 30 months of age.

Many families complete the M-CHAT simply to better understand their child’s development. 

What Happens After the Screening?

Low Risk:
Your child’s responses do not indicate elevated risk at this time. We’ll share helpful developmental resources.

Medium Risk:

A brief follow-up conversation may be recommended to better understand results.

High Risk:

We’ll guide you through next steps, which may include a diagnostic evaluation or intake consultation.
