Gráinne is the Operations Manager at Ascend Autism’s Latham, NY center, where she supports clinical and administrative operations to help ensure a smooth and supportive experience for the children and families we serve.
Emily earned her Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism from The Sage Colleges. She has spent the past 15 years supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families across home, school, clinic, and community settings.
Emily is dedicated to the compassionate treatment of severe behaviors and teaching client’s self-advocacy skills.
When she is not working, you can find her baking, enjoying the outdoors, or cheering on her favorite WNBA teams.

Our full-day ABA program is for younger children and emphasizes critical communication, behavior, and social skills. Running 35–40 hours per week, this program offers a robust schedule for families aiming for comprehensive, consistent growth.
Offering many benefits of the full-day program, the half-day ABA option provides added flexibility for morning or afternoon sessions. At 20–25 hours per week, this option allows kids to build essential skills at a pace that complements your family’s needs.
Designed for school-age children, our after-school program helps reinforce behavioral, social, and communication skills in a supportive peer setting. This program has limited availability, so contact us to learn more about available timeframes.
Social interaction is embedded in our approach, with opportunities for children to practice and develop essential social skills. Our full- and half-day programs incorporate structured activities promoting confidence and communication each day.
We offer dedicated coaching sessions to support parents in reinforcing therapy practices at home. These sessions, led by your child’s BCBA, provide strategies and techniques to promote positive behaviors beyond the center.
Our Latham center offers center-based ABA therapy, autism evaluations, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Skills Groups, and New York Early Intervention programming. Availability and eligibility vary by service.
An autism diagnosis is required for ABA therapy through commercial insurance, but it is not required for services through New York Early Intervention, Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy. Children can receive Speen or Occupational Therapy through Ascend Therapy Services without an autism diagnosis or enrollment in ABA.
No. Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy are available as standalone services at our Latham location. Your child does not need to participate in Ascend’s ABA program to receive these services.
Age eligibility varies by service and program. Our Latham center provides ABA programs for young children up to 5 years old, while Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy generally serve children ages 2-8. Our team can help determine which services may be appropriate for your child.
Ascend works with many major commercial insurance plans. Coverage varies by insurance plan and service, so our team can verify your benefits and help you understand potential coverage before services begin.
Contact our Latham team and tell us a little about your child, the services you’re interested in, and your insurance coverage. We’ll help you understand availability and guide you through the appropriate next steps.
Contact Ascend online or by phone to get started with ABA therapy. Our team will collect information about your child, insurance coverage, and autism diagnosis (if you do not have, we can evaluate your child), and help guide you through the intake process.
Once insurance is confirmed, we’ll schedule an assessment with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This evaluation will guide creating a personalized therapy plan tailored to your child’s needs.
Following the assessment, the BCBA will arrange a consultation with you to review the plan and discuss any adjustments before sessions begin.
After the plan is approved, the BCBA submits a service request to determine session hours through your insurance provider, typically processed within two weeks.
Once finalized, our team will reach out to set a start date, and therapy sessions can commence!

¹ Ascend Autism is an approved and contracted NY EIP provider and all EIP services are provided with no out-of-pocket costs to parents but your health insurance may be accessed. Ascend’s Toddler Developmental Group is a publicly funded program by NY state and the county, available to children under the age of three, who are believed to have a developmental disability. Services can only be provided after eligibility is determined by a state-approved evaluator and if eligible all services are identified in collaboration with parents and authorized by the municipality at which time the municipality will arrange for service providers based on the needs of the child and family.
