Ascend Autism’s ABA therapy services are individualized to the unique needs of each child, employing a naturalistic and captivating play-based methodology with social skills learning activities. Each child benefits from personalized therapy and support provided by Behavior Therapists trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The supervision and direction of all autism therapy services are overseen and directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Our full-day ABA therapy program focuses on key skills of behavior, communication, and social interaction. This 35–40-hour weekly program is best for working families in Bridgeport and the surrounding areas.
Our half-day ABA therapy program is similar to our full-day program, but less intensive at 20–25 hours a week. In the interest of providing families as much flexibility as possible, there is a half-day morning option and a half-day afternoon option.
This program for school-aged children strengthens general communication skills and cultivates social skills with other children their age.
Coaching sessions with your Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provide the training and support family members need to transfer the progress at the center to the home.

Many states in the U.S. require an official autism diagnosis for insurance to cover ABA services, including Connecticut. The earlier your child can get diagnosed and start ABA therapy, the sooner your child can start making significant progress. Our office will contact your insurance company to verify benefits and we will send you an intake packet for your child.
Once your insurance benefits have been verified, we will arrange an assessment with one of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). The BCBA will use these assessments to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for your child.
Once a plan is ready, the BCBA will schedule a meeting with you to review the treatment plan and make any final adjustments before the first therapy session.
After the assessment, the BCBA will submit a service request to the insurance company to recommend the child’s specific hours or therapy. It generally takes about two weeks to process this request.
Once your treatment plan is finalized, we will contact you to coordinate a start date. Therapy begins!
